Gov. Shema’s wife to grace Greater Tomorrow launch

The First Lady of Kastina State, Hajia Ibrahim Shema has committed to gracing the launch and fund-raising of the Greater Tomorrow Foundation for less-privileged children and talented sports kids holding on April 17 at the Nicon Luxury Hotel in Abuja.

Disclosing this to Sports Vanguard, Paul Okoku said that the former Minister of Sports and current President of the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC), Sani Ndanusa, the Director-General of the National Sports Commission, Hon. Gbenga Elegbeleye and the President of the Nigeria Football Federation Aminu Maigari have also confirmed their intention to attend the foundation launch, which is approved by the United State of America Internal Revenue Service (IRS), 501(C)(3)

He said the First Lady of Kstina State told him that she was partnering with the Foundation because she wants to bring it to Kastina State to empower youths in the state.

“Her Excellency is partnering with the Foundation because she saw the need for what the programme can do to help less-privileged children in Kastina State”

Okoku said other persons coming for the launch of  include the Commissioner of Youth and Sports of Katsina State, Hon. Ibrahim Safana, the Chief Financial Officer of the League Management Company, Salisu Abubakar, the Chairman of Brila FM, Dr. Larry Izamoje and CAF official, Paul Bassey.

While expressing gratitude for the interest so far shown, Okoku said he was humbled by the fact that Nigerians had not forgotten him despite quitting the football scene about 30 years ago.

He commended Dahiru Saidi, his Director of Event, who has been pulling all strings to ensure the success of the event.

“He is a wonderful man, who has been able to help us expand the contact base for the event launch. He has a been true friend and a appreciate all he has done and hope that the Almighty will reward him for all his efforts”, said Okoku

He added that Food Bank of Nigeria, who specialise in helping to help distribute foods to less-privileged kids, have also committed to the project.
